What is custom software development?
Custom software development is the practice of building an application specifically for one organisation, rather than buying a general-purpose product. It is chosen when a business process is a competitive advantage, is unusual enough that packaged software cannot model it, or when licence costs for off-the-shelf tools exceed the cost of ownership.
We build ERP, CRM, inventory, HR, and operations systems for manufacturers, exporters, and service businesses — including our own products Export CRM, SmartInvento, and EasyWork HRMS. That means the trade-offs we describe come from running these systems, not from a brochure.

Our custom software development process
- 01
Process mapping
We sit with the people who do the work and document the current process — including the exceptions and workarounds that never appear in a requirements document.
- 02
Scope and phasing
We split the system into phases so that the highest-value module goes live first, rather than waiting a year for everything.
- 03
Data model design
The schema is designed before the screens. Getting this wrong is the single most expensive mistake in business software.
- 04
Iterative build
Module by module, with your team using each one on staging before the next begins.
- 05
Migration and rollout
Historic data is imported and reconciled, then users are moved over in a planned cutover with a rollback option.
- 06
Training and support
Hands-on training for each role, plus a support channel for the first months of live use.

Custom Software Development questions
Custom software or off-the-shelf — which is cheaper?
Off-the-shelf is almost always cheaper in year one. Over three years, the comparison shifts: per-user licence fees compound, while custom software has a large upfront cost and a smaller maintenance cost. The break-even depends on your user count and how much of the packaged product you actually use. We work this out with you before recommending either.
How long does an ERP implementation take?
A single module — inventory, or order management — can be live in 6 to 10 weeks. A full ERP covering production, stock, sales, and finance is typically a 6 to 12 month phased rollout. We strongly recommend phasing over a single big-bang launch.
Can it integrate with Tally or our existing accounting software?
Yes. We regularly build integrations with Tally, payment gateways, courier and shipping APIs, and GST filing portals so that data does not have to be re-keyed between systems.
What happens to our existing data?
Existing data is migrated as part of the project. We import from Excel, Tally, or your legacy database, reconcile the totals against your records, and give you a verification report before go-live.
Who owns the software you build for us?
You do. The source code and the data are yours, delivered to a repository you control. You are free to host it anywhere and to have another team maintain it.
